solution – an end-to-end mobile transaction platform |
| |
BEDFORD, MASS. – August 11, 2008 |
| |
XIUS-bcgi, a leader in delivering innovative telecom solutions for
mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide and the telecom division of
Megasoft Limited, today announced the launch of its eCogNito
solution – an end-to-end mobile transaction platform. This launch
will be offered as a pilot to Bharti Airtel, India’s leading
integrated telecom company, under a memorandum of understanding
signed between the two companies.
“Our eCogNito solution offers Mobile Network Operators a quantum
leap in operational efficiency of their revenue assurance systems by
providing anytime, anywhere electronic talk time charging and bill
payment in self service mode,” said Sunny DeWakar, president of
XIUS-bcgi’s eCogNito division. “Additionally, it simplifies and
speeds up day-to-day mobile transactions and is an ideal replacement
for smart cards that are currently being used for different
applications.”
“We have generated early interest with the current launch of our
mobile commerce service in India, and we already have more than
260,000 customers signed up,” said Pallab Mitra, head of m-Commerce
for Bharti Airtel. “We believe that the solutions being offered by
XIUS-bcgi will improve the ease of use and accessibility of new
products and services that we plan to offer with our m-commerce
initiatives.”
Bharti Airtel has more than 50 million users. With the company’s
current rural initiatives, eCognNito’s ease of use solutions will
improve accessibility, penetration and adoptions of Bharti Airtel’s
m-commerce offerings to their rapidly growing customer base.
“Bharti Airtel is one of the most successful and innovative telecom
providers in India. It has a strong reputation for providing
world-class services to its more than 50 million subscribers,” said

XIUS-bcgi’s eCogNito solution extends the division’s Intellectual
Property in embedded RFID, touch interfaces and secure flash
controllers developed in partnerships with two leading international
semiconductor companies to develop two unique products custom
designed for mobile applications.
A
network-agonistic Contact-less SIM/(U)SIM application based on an
unique dual chip architecture with onboard cryptographic
coprocessors, eCogNito is compliant with international industry
standards in multiple verticals - GSM, 3GPP, ETSI (telecom), ISO
14443, Mifare™, FeliCa™, NFC (contact-less cards) and EMVCo (Visa,
CAST), VGP, as well as GlobalPlatform (Banking).
Another innovation, designed
with state-of the-art printed electronics technology, is a
paper-thin self-service terminal device with through-the-glass touch
sensing termed Active Posters (APs). These can be mounted behind any
retail shop with glass front, instantly transforming it into a 24x7
storefront.
To be issued by mobile network operators, the CL SIMs will work with
the millions of existing handsets in-use, allowing consumers to
perform contact-less transactions for prepaid recharge, electronic
bill payment, booking movie tickets and accessing digital content,
coupons/tokens on the move - all of this with easy-to-use and
simple, but intuitive, touch of their handset to ‘target icons’ on
the APs anywhere, anytime.
Consumers will also be able to touch their handsets to ‘target
icons’ on APs placed in cafes, music shops, multiplexes, fast food
restaurants, etc. to automatically set-up local, high-speed free
data connections using multiple short-range wireless connectivity
technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.) and download rich media
content like video clips, games and animations in minutes to their

XIUS-bcgi, a leader in delivering innovative telecom solutions for

paradigm-changing service offering in the South American region.
Additionally, Diemo has chosen XIUS-bcgi as its System Integration
Partner for supply and management of other third-party professional

XIUS-bcgi’s Mobile Services Platform is a next-generation convergent
platform for Mobile Virtual Network Enablers (MVNEs), Mobile Virtual
Network Operators (MVNOs), new entrants into mobile
telecommunications and next-generation providers.
Diemo aims to provide banking and payment services for un-served and

for its mobile-driven, real-time cash transfer offerings.
Diemo will partner with Digitel, the GSM operator in Venezuela, for
the first such real-time cash transfer-focused MVNO in the country.
It plans to roll out similar country-specific MVNOs across several
countries in the South American region, starting with Colombia in
late 2008. Other countries will be announced in the coming weeks.
XIUS-bcgi will be responsible for the supply and turnkey management
of the customized core network infrastructure for enabling Diemo’s
mobile launch through its multi-country rollout.
Announcing the deal, G.V. Kumar, CEO
of XIUS-bcgi, said, “XIUS-bcgi is very excited about the opportunity
to work with such a pioneering organization as Diemo. The agreement

XIUS-bcgi Receives Allowance of
its Mexican Patent Application for Parental Control Technology |
| |
Innovative Mobile Guardian Solution Allows Subscribers to Act as
“Guardians” for All Lines on Their Accounts |
| |
BARCELONA – February 13, 2008 |
| |
XIUS-bcgi, a leader in delivering innovative, revenue-generating
solutions to mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, today announced
that the Mexican patent office has allowed XIUS-bcgi’s Mexican
patent application pertaining to the supervisory controls of
wireless communications. The company will be discussing this
technology this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in
Hall 1 Stand G63.
This
allowance follows the issuance of U.S. patents 7,197,321; 7,206,569
and 7,218,912, which also relate to the supervisory control of
wireless communications. This patented technology is at the core of
the company’s Mobile Guardian solution, which combines powerful
access management capabilities with leading-edge content-filtering
technology.
Mobile
Guardian provides operators with a product that allows consumer and
enterprise subscribers to act as “guardians” for all lines on their
accounts, monitoring and managing mobile content, voice and SMS
usage in real time.
Mobile
Guardian puts management tools directly into the hands of
subscribers, allowing them to select content categories, create
specific contact lists, customize usage settings and define
allowances to meet their specific needs.
“In today’s mobile environment, access management is critical, as
inappropriate and dangerous content is becoming pervasive,” said G.V
Kumar, CEO of XIUS-bcgi. “Our Mobile Guardian solution is especially
important for operators who want to help parents shield their
children from this type of content. Subscribers are demanding
access management, and we believe this is a service that will
differentiate the mobile operators who provide it. |

XIUS-bcgi Announces INergy™,
a Breakthrough Intelligent Network Offload Solution |
| |
Solution allows wireless carriers to offload network traffic
without expensive upgrades |
| |
BARCELONA – February 11, 2008 |
| |
XIUS-bcgi, a leader in delivering innovative, revenue-generating
solutions to mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, today
announced INergy, an IN offload solution, which allows wireless
telecommunication carriers to offload traffic from their
existing IN session control and prepaid applications without
expensive capacity expansions and/or network upgrades. The XIUS-bcgi
IN offload solution therefore vastly reduces the traditional
costs associated with handling surges in traffic. XIUS-bcgi
executives discuss this and more at booth 1G63 at Mobile World
Congress, taking place today through February 14th at the Fira
de Barcelona.
“We are very pleased to bring INergy to market,” said Ersin
Galioglu, COO of XIUS-bcgi. “To effectively compete in today’s
mobile telecommunications industry, mobile network operators
must continually drive their operating costs down. INergy
drastically reduces the cost of offloading traffic, so that
operators can more efficiently deliver services and thereby
increase profit margins.”
In the effort to stem the expense of upgrading an IN to the next
capacity tier, XIUS-bcgi allows carriers to route all traffic
through the IN offload platform’s intelligent routing engine.
The routing engine uses carrier-defined criteria for determining
call traffic flow, allowing the carrier to send only required
traffic through to the IN platform. This allows the carrier to
extend the length of time they stay within the licensed
parameters for the IN network components and defer upgrade
expense. The solution achieves this by offloading the processing
of select prepaid call traffic onto the XIUS-bcgi platform.
XIUS-bcgi also can customize the solution to process regular
subscriber traffic in addition to prepaid users. INergy is
expected to be available in the second quarter of 2008. |

flexible and scalable, and XIUS-bcgi technology is a natural

for its unique ability to provide flexibility in pricing,
branding and service management across multiple countries.
Both parties expect the
global MVNO market to develop in much the same way as other
regions including the Benelux, Scandinavia and the UK. |

– February 11, 2008
|

XIUS-bcgi, a leader in delivering innovative, revenue-generating
solutions to mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide, and International
Agencies Company Limited, INTERCOL, a Bahraini based diversified
conglomerate with over 50 years of business, today announced that
Zain Bahrain has deployed XIUS-bcgi’s InstaRoam product to provide
roaming service for start-up mobile operators and to enhance its
roaming services. Zain Bahrain is part of Zain Group, a leading
wireless service provider in seven Middle Eastern and 15 sub-Saharan
African countries. The operator currently provides services to more
than 42 million subscribers.
XIUS-bcgi’s InstaRoam offers instant roaming access with a single
agreement into more than 500 networks in more than 250 countries.
The solution eliminates complex testing procedures and the need for
securing operator agreements, and its dual-IMSI architecture gives

normally take several man years to build, inevitably leading to
subscriber churn and loss of revenue. With InstaRoam, operators are
able to deploy roaming capabilities within a matter of weeks.
Intercol has partnered with XIUS-bcgi to cover three geographies
namely kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
“It is our mission to provide world-class, high-quality mobile
services to each of our subscribers worldwide, and we pride

location,” said Dr Ahmed Al Shatti, chief operating officer of Zain
(Bahrain). “To fulfill our quality guarantee, we partner with only
the industry’s top solutions providers. XIUS-bcgi is supplying the
technology and support we require to maintain our reputation for
quality and innovation.”

mobile services, and Zain Bahrain marks an important deployment in

solutions and support to be chosen by such a major player in this
region.”
